Server Maintenance & Monitoring

Proactive patching, monitoring, and maintenance for Windows Server, Hyper-V and VMware hosts, SQL Server, and the applications that run on them.

Who monitors your servers? Say goodbye to downtime with CaneData's proactive maintenance. We keep servers running trouble-free by watching disk space, performance, backups, security and hardware logs, and updates, and by fixing what we find before it turns into an outage.

What the monthly allocation covers

Server maintenance is the core of our fixed monthly allocation of hours (see How we work). A typical month includes:

  • Scheduled Windows and application patching, with reboots after hours
  • Around-the-clock monitoring and alerting for disk, CPU, memory, services, and hardware
  • Backup verification and periodic test restores, not just a green checkmark
  • Antivirus and EDR status and log review
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy hygiene
  • SQL Server care: index and statistics jobs, integrity checks, and backup chains that actually work
  • Hyper-V and VMware host updates, snapshot cleanup, and capacity planning
  • Firmware and driver updates for Dell and HPE servers
  • Documentation kept current, and a monthly report you can actually read

End-of-life servers

Still running Windows Server 2012 or an old SBS box? It no longer receives security updates and is the first thing an attacker looks for. We will maintain it while you plan, then help you migrate to a supported platform, in the cloud, in a colocation rack, or on new hardware.

We maintain servers we did not build. Inherited a server from a previous provider with no documentation? That is a normal Tuesday for us. It usually starts with the free assessment and a short baseline project to get it documented and current, and then it goes on the monthly plan.

Ready to stop worrying about IT?

It starts with a free assessment. You get a plain-language summary of where you stand and a straight answer on what it would take to fix, from the engineer who would do the work.
